Junior Forward Tarik Black Transferring from Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – Memphis junior forward Tarik Black is transferring after three seasons, and he’ll be leaving with his degree.

Coach Josh Pastner said Tuesday that he wishes the 6-foot-9 Black nothing but the best. Pastner says he doesn’t ever want to lose players but notes Black gave himself options by graduating.

Black, a Memphis native, averaged 8.1 points and 4.8 rebounds playing 32 games this season for the Tigers. But he had only six points and two rebounds in the Tigers’ 70-48 loss to Michigan State in the NCAA tournament.

Pastner says the Tigers will be fine next season with a good recruiting class on deck.
