Metro Government Meetings Continue in Brownsville

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn.- Efforts to combine the city and county governments of Haywood County into a metro form are continuing . The Haywood County Metro Charter Committee met again Tuesday to talk about some of the challenges of creating a metro government. One expert said that metro government proposals are a tough sell with voters. Haywood County Mayor Franklin Smith said that this is the furthest a metro government proposal for the county has ever gotten in the planning process. Another meeting is set for this coming Monday.
