LIST: Storm shelters available across West Tennessee

JACKSON, Tenn. (WBBJ) – As the second round of severe weather moves into West Tennessee Tuesday, WBBJ is compiling another list of shelters available.

Here is a list of shelters across the area. Be sure to check back for future listings as they are announced.

  • Crockett County

    • The Alamo Storm Shelter located on Ball Park Loop will be opening at 4 p.m.
  • Carroll County

    • Check back later for updates.
  • Hardin County

    • Check back later for updates.
  • Henderson County

    • The Watson Center located at 50 Natchez Trace Drive will be open beginning at 5 p.m.
  • Henry County

    • Storm shelters will be open at Harrelson, Henry and Lakewood Schools beginning at 6 p.m., according to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
    • The Storm Shelter at Inman School will open at 6 p.m. and will remain open until the threat has passed.
  • Madison County

    • The Carl Perkins Civic Center will be opening at 4 p.m. again as a safe place for any who need it.
  • McNairy County

    • The Selmer Civic Center is open as of 4 p.m. The shelter is located at 230 N 5th Street. Pets are allowed but must be in a crate.
  • Weakley County

    • The Martin Community Safe Room located at 701 N Lindell Street is now open as of 3:22 p.m. This facility operates as a FEMA-rated F5 tornado safe room. For more details and guidelines for this shelter, click here.
    • The city of Dresden Tornado Safe Room is open as of at 5:05 p.m., according to the Dresden Fire Department.
