Man, 85, tells police he killed his grandson
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Police in Nashville have arrested an 85-year-old man in a fatal shooting inside his family’s home.
Investigators said the man confessed to shooting his grandson as he slept early Monday. The man’s wife called police shortly before 6 a.m. to report the incident.
Police arrived to find 30-year-old Ben Phillips dead in his bedroom with a gunshot wound to the head.
Detective Johnny Crumby said the man complained that Phillips was constantly threatening him and his wife and was the source of problems in the home.
Police said the suspect would be charged later Monday.
