16-year-old motorcyclist suffers amputation of both feet after crashing into guardrail
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT/Gray News) – A 16-year-old motorcyclist lost both feet after crashing into a guardrail, according to police.
The Knoxville Police Department said the crash happened on I-40 west Saturday afternoon.
Police said they believe the 16-year-old was speeding on I-40 west when he lost control and crashed into the guardrail.
Officers said the teen was alert and conscious but sustained “significant injuries” in the crash, including amputation of both feet.
The teen was taken to the hospital for treatment and surgery.
