Gunman in West Jackson Caught in under 20 Minutes

JACKSON, Tenn.– A suspected gunman has been arrested for the shooting this afternoon in West Jackson. Sadarius Clark, 18, was found hiding in the dumpster of the Hartland Place Apartment Complex Old Hickory Boulevard about 20 minutes after the shooting. Clark is accused of shooting a 17-year-old girl in the arm on Tracewood Cove 3:20 p.m. today. The girl was transported by ambulance to Regional Hospital of Jackson. Investigators learned that Clark had been involved in a fight at the dead end of Tracewood Cove about an hour before the shooting. Clark left and returned with a gun. He stood about 100 yards away and fired multiple shots in the direction of where he had been fighting. One of the bullets struck the girl. Clark is expected to be charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon. Clark will be formally arraigned at 8 a.m. Thursday in Jackson City Court. Jackson police arrested Clark on June 8 for gun possession. In light of today’s shooting, police will ask that Clark’s probation be revoked.
