Belmont’s schedule includes home date with VCU

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Belmont hosts VCU and travels to North Carolina and Kentucky as part of its 2013-14 schedule released Thursday.

VCU visits Belmont on Dec. 1 and becomes one of the highest-profile opponents the Bruins have ever hosted. Belmont has never faced a nationally ranked opponent at the Curb Event Center.

Belmont travels to North Carolina on Nov. 17 and visits Kentucky on Dec. 21.

The Bruins open the season Nov. 8 with a road game against local rival Lipscomb, which recently hired former Belmont point guard and assistant coach Casey Alexander as its head coach. Belmont will host Lipscomb on Nov. 20.

Belmont opens its Ohio Valley schedule Jan. 2 at home against Jacksonville State.
