Memphis murder suspect arrested in Arkansas

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – Authorities say a Memphis man accused of neglecting his mother to the point that she died has been arrested in Arkansas.

Seth Bruce, spokesman for the U.S. Marshals Service in Memphis, said Ronald Goodwin was arrested Thursday in Paragould, Ark.

In a news release, Bruce says Goodwin had been wanted on a first-degree murder warrant issued Sept. 11. He is accused of neglecting his mother while benefiting from her Social Security money.

Goodwin was arrested without incident. The marshals service says he is in custody at the Green County jail awaiting extradition.
