JACKSON, Tenn.–The Jackson man accused in a knife attack faced a judge on Thursday. The judge bound Eddie Pittman‘s case over to the grand jury after hearing testimony from the alleged victim. Rodricus Morris, the alleged victim, showed the courtroom his bandaged up wounds. “I had a cut artery and cut nerve,” he said. Pittman is charged with attempted first degree murder. Police say the alleged attack happened at a house on Simms Street on March 7. Morris testified Pittman forced his way into his bedroom. “Immediately you know I thought I was dreaming, but I wasn’t,” said Morris. Officers say the victim suffered severe cuts on his arm and stomach. Morris said he sold Pittman drugs several times. “Crack cocaine,” Morris said. Pittman also faces a theft charge in a separate incident. A loss prevention officer testified on Thursday. He claims Pittman stole blue jeans from Sears in January. The judge bound both cases over to the grand jury. Pittman is scheduled to return to court on June 9.
