Bridge to be dedicated to National Guardsman

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A Knox County bridge is being dedicated to a Tennessee Army National Guard pilot who was killed in a helicopter crash in 2011.

The bridge to be dedicated to Chief Warrant Officer 4 Daniel Cole is located at the intersection of Interstate 240 and Westland Drive in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

1st Lt. Thomas Joseph Williams Jr. was also killed when the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopter crashed.

Officials say the guardsmen, both of Knoxville, were conducting a routine training mission in an established training area in rural Campbell County when their helicopter struck power lines.
