Circuit Court Judge Mike Faulk dead at 61
KINGSPORT, Tenn. (AP) – Kingsport Circuit Court Judge Mike Faulk, a former Tennessee senator and Hawkins County commissioner, has died at the age of 61.
Administrative Office of the Courts spokeswoman Michele Wojciechowski told The Associated Press that Faulk passed away on Tuesday.
She didn’t have details about how he died. But the Kingsport Times-News reported on Wednesday that earlier this year Faulk disclosed he was being treated for cancer of the esophagus, and that the cancer had spread to his liver.
Faulk, a Church Hill attorney, served one term in the Tennessee state Senate before being appointed circuit judge by Gov. Bill Haslam in 2013.
