Shooting message on wall at Germantown High School

GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (AP) – Germantown High School officials are informing parents about a message written on a bathroom wall about a possible school shooting.

Shelby County Schools said Friday that the school campus is safe and classes are continuing as scheduled after discovery of the message.

The school district says police in Germantown, a suburb of Memphis, are investigating. Officers are on campus talking with students.

School officials say the threat is an “ill-advised copycat attempt” following recent acts of vandalism at other schools. The school and the district say they take all threats seriously.
