Remains found near where Tenn. man went missing

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) – Police are investigating whether human remains found on the U.S. Air Force’s Arnold Engineering Development Center property in southern Tennessee belong to a man who went missing in 2011.

The Chattanooga Times Free Press (http://bit.ly/1u1BY2Y) reports squirrel hunters contact AEDC officials and several law enforcement agencies began investigating.

Manchester Police Department assistant chief Adam Floied says the remains were found close to an area where officers search for a missing person.

The newspaper reports Leo Paul Massicotte was last seen when his girlfriend dropped him off in the area. He had planned to walk to a friend’s home.

Floied said police strongly suspect the remains belong to Massicotte, but expect to get a positive identity by the end of November.
