2 children, adult killed in Tenn. school bus crash

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Two buses carrying children home from an intermediate and a primary school collided on a Tennessee highway, killing two children and an adult.

Another 27 people were injured in the Tuesday afternoon crash.

Police did not immediately say what caused the crash that sent one of the buses onto its side. The adult who died was an aide.

University of Tennessee Medical Center spokesman Jim Ragonese (rag-oh-NEE’-see) says seven people were treated there, and three had been released by Tuesday evening. East Tennessee Children’s Hospital spokeswoman Erica Estep says another 20 children were being treated there for injuries that were not life-threatening.
