Boy charged with taking BB gun to Memphis school
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – Authorities have arrested a 14-year-old boy who is charged with bringing a pellet gun to school.
Shelby County sheriff’s detectives were told Tuesday that a Raleigh Egypt High School student was in possession of a handgun.
Detectives found the weapon in a school locker and determined it was a BB gun.
According to the sheriff’s office, the student stated he brought the gun to school to “show off” to his friends.
The boy was taken into custody on a charge of possessing a weapon on school property and taken to Juvenile Court.
