Battle of Fort Henry anniversary being marked next month
DOVER, Tenn. (AP) – Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area is marking the 153rd anniversary of the Battle of Fort Henry next month.
Local history about the Civil War will be presented from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at The Homeplace. A guided quarter-mile walk will follow, depending on weather, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fort Henry Trail parking area.
A program with historian Susan “Ski” Witzofsky will cover Fort Henry’s construction, battle and legacy.

Land Between the Lakes manages more than 170,000 acres in western Kentucky and Tennessee as part of the U.S. Forest Service and the Department of Agriculture’s public lands program.
