She was born on November 4, 1949, in the state of Michigan, to Elsie Collins and Wilbert Taylor. She professed a hope in Christ and became a devoted member of Reedy Creek Missionary Baptist Church in McLemoresville,Tennessee. She remained a faithful and active member until her health declined.
Ann received her education at Webb Academic School and graduated with a diploma. She was known for her kind spirit, warm smile, and boundless love for others. Ann had a remarkable way of embracing everyone she encountered—she took in family, friends, and anyone in need, loving them as her own. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and acceptance, where no one was ever turned away. She was truly the glue that held her family together, always offering guidance, strength, and unconditional love.
She enjoyed fishing, working, being a disciplinarian, eating, doing work on the yard as well as traveling while enjoying life with the people she loved. She often found great joy in caring for others and creating meaningful connections. Throughout her life, she was employed in various roles, including sewing (WSW), welding (Murray Outdoors Company Inc.), home care, and other factory jobs, where she was respected for her dedication and strong work ethic.
She was preceded in death by her parents (Elsie Collins, Wilbert Taylor); brothers (Carneilius, Larry, Robert); daughter (Elsie Lancaster); step siblings (Charlie, Barbara, Robert Lee Collins)
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her sons Tracy Taylor and Adrian McClerkin; eleven grandchildren, sister Adean Newbill; great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends—all of whom she loved as her own.
Ann leaves a legacy of love, unity, and compassion. She will be remembered for her open heart, her selfless spirit, and the way she made everyone feel like family. Though she is no longer with us, her love will continue to live on in all those whose lives she touched.
