Fort Campbell soldiers returning from Ebola-fighting mission
FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (AP) – About 50 soldiers from Fort Campbell will soon be the first to return from deployment to West Africa, where they were sent to help fight Ebola.
The soldiers from Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 101st Airborne Division, 101st Sustainment Brigade and 86th Combat Support Hospital are landing Thursday night at Campbell Army Airfield.
The soldiers have completed 21 days of controlled monitoring at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.
Defense Department teams arrived in late October in West Africa, where they trained doctors, nurses and other workers.
