Fourth man arrested in fatal shooting of Memphis girl, 7
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – Memphis police have charged a fourth man with murder in the drive-by shooting of a 7-year-old girl.
The Commercial Appeal (http://bit.ly/1OKPHGL) reports 22-year-old Carlos Stokes was arrested Wednesday night in the death of Kirsten Williams, who was fatally shot April 10 as she played outside in her front yard.
According to court records, Stokes lived in the same home as a 15-year-old Cateria Stokes, who died in a drive-by shooting hours before the younger girl was slain.
According to the arrest affidavit, police developed Stokes as a suspect after talking with a witness and a co-defendant. Stokes told police he had no knowledge about the shooting.
Police have said the three other men charged in the younger girl’s shooting are members of Memphis street gangs.
