Lighting company chairman’s home, office searched

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – The FBI and Knoxville police have searched the home and office of the chairman of an international lighting company.

WBIR-TV (http://on.wbir.com/1JLIl4w ) reports the FBI Cyber Crimes Task Force and Knoxville police’s Organized Crime Unit entered the home of Bandit Lites Chairman Michael Strickland on Thursday morning. The station also recorded images of police outside of Bandit Lites headquarters.

Strickland’s lawyer, Nate Evans, said in a statement that the search appeared to have resulted from a complaint by Strickland’s estranged wife. Strickland said in the statement the search had “absolutely nothing to do with Bandit Lites” or any of the company’s operations.

The FBI declined to release information, citing an ongoing investigation.

Bandit Lites’ website says the Knoxville-headquartered company specializes in rentals, sales and design for lighting needs.
