NORTHWEST JACKSON, Tenn. – For the 17th year, University School of Jackson is attracting dozens of locals to the Bruins Den for the annual Best of the West soccer camp. The week-long session is a must-go for Will Pucek. “I’ve been attending this camp for four to five years,” Pucek said. “It’s really enjoyable because of the amount of kids here. It’s a great way to spend your summer.” Eleventh grader Maddy Pzdrakiwicz has been attending the camp for three years. The camp’s competition keeps her coming back for more. “It’s very fun to play with all the good players and the boys,” said Pzdrakiwicz. The Best of the West lasts until Friday, June 5. USJ head coach Paul Conway says it’s not too late to sign up. In the morning from 9-12 p.m., grades one through seven compete. During the afternoon session from 5-8 p.m., grades 8-12 take the field.
