DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man appeared Wednesday in Jackson City Court on accusations of assaulting his wife and then breaking windows out of their home. Stephen Crawford is charged with hitting his wife multiple times in the face around 2 a.m. Tuesday at their home on Allen Street, according to an affidavit. Police say she had visible injuries to her head, face, neck, arms and hands. She was transported to a nearby hospital with a possible broken jaw. Crawford also allegedly broke five windows out of the home they share and also struck the window of his wife’s vehicle multiple times. Crawford is charged with aggravated domestic assault and vandalism. He is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond, and the judge issued a no-contact order.
