DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man appeared Friday in Jackson City Court after allegedly running from police and hiding in the shrubs outside a Jackson home. Police were investigating a suspected burglary around 11:30 p.m. Thursday when they attempted to stop Marshall Hale and another person who matched the description of the suspects, according to an affidavit. When approaching the pair, police say Hale ran from them before hiding outside a home on Russell Road. Hale hid a backpack in the garage of the home and then tried to hide in a shrub bed, according to the affidavit. After being taken into custody, police say Hale told them he ran because he had an outstanding failure to appear warrant, the document states. Hale is charged with evading arrest and criminal trespassing. He is being held in lieu of a $20,000 bond.
