DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man appeared Wednesday in city court on accusations of breaking into a storage closet and later selling items he stole from it. Ty Haynes is charged with aggravated burglary and theft of property under $500 after police say he sold an ottoman and DVDs he stole after breaking into a storage closet, according to an affidavit. A man reported the break-in and missing property July 4, and a nearby resident later told police he bought an ottoman and DVDs from Haynes, the document states. Another resident told police they saw Haynes take the door that had been on the storage closet and leave the area with it. The owner told police the value of the door and stolen property was around $300. Haynes’ bond is set at $25,000.
