It’s hard for some Chester County players to put 2014 behind them. The Eagles reached unprecedented heights. Chester County did more than just beat Lexington. The Eagles won their first-ever district championship and hosted the school’s first playoff game. “That’s just something to talk about sitting around the camp fire. It’s not anything that’s going to help this year’s team,” head coach Michael Hodum said. “They know they’re starting from scratch and have to fight for everything they get.” Fighting can’t be emphasized enough when talking about the Eagles region. Every week presents a new battle. “It’s going to be like going through a gauntlet. That’s one of those things our kids have to be mentally prepared for,” Hodum said about his loaded region. “We’re going to prepare ourselves for that and I have a lot of confidence in these kids.” Chester County’s region features Hardin Co, Dyer Co., Lexington, North Side, Ripley, Haywood, Crockett Co. and Obion Co. The Eagles season opener is on the road against Adamsville.
