Haywood Co. football player has died

HAYWOOD COUNTY, Tenn. — A Haywood County High School football player passed away Wednesday, according to school officials. Tekarian Maclin, 16, was the student who died, according to school officials. He was in the eleventh grade. Grief counselors will be available for students until 9 p.m. tonight, according to Principal Jerry Pyron. Haywood County School Superintendent Teresa Russell released a statement: “The Haywood County Board of Education is saddened by today‘s tragic events regarding Tekarian Maclin.
