Man who allegedly defrauded Arizona organization is arrested
PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) – Authorities say a man who allegedly defrauded an organization in Prescott out of about $1,600 has been arrested in Tennessee.
Prescott police announced Wednesday that 58-year-old Thomas Clark was located in Harriman, Tennessee and booked into the Roane County Jail on suspicion of fraud and theft.
It wasn’t immediately clear if Clark has a lawyer yet.
Police say Clark was the vice president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles lodge in September 2013 when an investigation began into alleged fraudulent activity.
Lodge members told police that Clark allegedly had been transferring money from the club into his personal checking accounts.
Police say Clark then left the state and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
They say Clark was tracked down in Tennessee last Friday and taken into custody.
