State investigates Haywood Co. fire; victims still critical

HAYWOOD COUNTY, Tenn. — State investigators have taken the lead in the investigation of a weekend house fire that left two people badly injured. The victims suffered burns to large portions of their bodies and are still considered critically injured, according to police. The home is located off of East Cherry Street in Brownsville and burned around 3:30 a.m. Sunday. Investigators are expected to return a full report by next week.
