JACKSON, Tenn. — A local push to get older students back in the classroom brought experienced learners Tuesday to the campus of Jackson State Community College. Get Inspired is designed to motivate and inspire students who are 50 and older as well as give them the confidence and information they need to return to class. The public workshop provided information about two-year degrees, short-term health care certificates and other easy-to-adapt training opportunities. “I hope that they see that no matter what their age is, they are more than capable of going back to school and succeeding with going back to school,” JSCC’s Director of Lifetime Learning Leah Gray said. Event planners at the school are hoping to set up a similar workshop in a few months.
