International Bluegrass Music Museum to be honored
OWENSBORO, Ky. (AP) – The International Bluegrass Music Museum in Owensboro will receive a distinguished achievement award from the International Bluegrass Music Association during its awards show in October.
The honor was announced Wednesday along with nominees for the 26th annual International Bluegrass Music Awards. It recognizes those who have been leaders in their field or fostered bluegrass music’s image with developments to broaden the music’s recognition and accessibility.
Others to receive the award are Steve Martin, Alison Brown, Murphy Henry and “Bashful Brother” Oswald Kirby.
The International Bluegrass Music Awards will be presented Oct. 1 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
