Company plans to invest $22.5M in air maintenance facility
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) – An aviation company has announced plans to invest $22.5 million into an air maintenance facility at the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport.
Multiple media outlets report West Star Aviation also announced that it plans to hire up to 225 people within the next five years. The company will provide maintenance and repairs to private aircraft along with other services.
The company plans to set up operations in an existing hangar purchased from Cleveland, Tennessee businessman Allan Jones. There is a 15-acre site nearby that can be used for expansion.
West Star CEO Robert Rasberry says he’d like to see operations up and running by the end of the year.
The Illinois company has facilities in Chicago, Colorado, South Carolina and Missouri.
