JACKSON, Tenn. — A woman appeared Monday in city court after police say she shot at a man several times outside a Jackson hotel. Laveda Randle is accused of firing a 9 mm handgun at a man just after 10 p.m. Aug. 8 outside a hotel in the 1900 block of the Highway 45 Bypass, according to an affidavit. Randle initially told police the man had drugged and raped her in a hotel room and then followed her outside prior to the shooting. However, police say hotel security video shows she was the aggressor. Police say the multiple gunshots put people in the parking lot in danger as well as vehicle occupants on nearby Interstate 40. Randle is charged with reckless endangerment with a firearm and a false reports count. She is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
