JACKSON, Tenn. — A free basketball camp in the Hub City Saturday offers kids a chance to hone their skills on and off the court. The camp will be held at T.R. White Sportsplex from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. for ages 6 to 18. Former NBA and University of Memphis basketball player Andre Turner and former Liberty head basketball coach Dexter Walker will be there to help kids with their game. City Councilman Johnny Dodd says he hopes kids at the event can take away skills that go beyond the basketball court. “We try to give our kids just life experience to let them know that you can always go through things in life but you can always bounce back and be a productive citizen,” Dodd said. Organizers say any children between 6 and 18 can attend. Parents are encouraged to come in and register their children. All who attend will receive breakfast, lunch and a free T-shirt.
