JACKSON, Tenn.-Preparations are underway for Jackson’s 26th annual African Street Festival, which will be in a new location at Lane Field. The festival aims to bring a variety of cultures together and mainly targets the youth of the city. This year the festival will feature several new and returning vendors. Organizers told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News they hope to make a big impact on the community. “This is an event that we’re especially looking forward to. This time because after 5 or 6 years, we’ve relocated by a means because we felt like we we’re getting so overcrowded we needed more space,” said said James Theus, African Street Festival organizer. The African Street Festival officially begins tomorrow and runs through Sunday.
