The Jackson Generals are still winning after their season is over. The Double-A baseball team was named winners of the Southern League‘s Community Service Award on Wednesday. “We‘re honored to win this award, though this is work we love doing regardless of recognition,” General Manager Jason Compton said in the news release. “We consider the Generals to be a crucial part of the community in Jackson and surrounding West Tennessee counties, which is why giving back is such an important part of what we do.” The Generals were a staple in West Tennessee community this season. The team helped raised nearly $10,000. “I am ecstatic that the Generals have been honored with this award,” Jackson Manager of Community Relations Tabitha Causey said in the news release. “We love being a part of the community in Jackson and West Tennessee and, are passionate about finding ways to be involved and give back.”
