Pedestrian struck, killed on Knoxville interstate ramp
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A male pedestrian has been struck and killed by a vehicle on an Interstate 275 ramp near downtown Knoxville.
Knoxville police tell local media that the unidentified pedestrian was walking along the interstate when he was hit Sunday afternoon. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The southbound ramp to Interstate 40 East and Henley Street was closed during the on-scene investigation, but was reopened later in the evening.
Police say details on the pedestrian’s information and identity are being withheld until notifications can be made.
