Ducks Unlimited hold annual banquet in Jackson
JACKSON, Tenn-Avid hunters and volunteers continue a 30-year-long tradition Thursday night at the annual Ducks Unlimited banquet in Jackson.
The dinner at Jackson Fairgrounds Park featured an auction that raised money that goes to preserving wetlands in the United States and Canada. Items auctioned off included a boat, shotguns, decoys, and apparel. The Ducks Unlimited organization began wetland conservation more that 75 years ago. “I think everybody enjoys having a part in preserving our wetland history and heritage and protecting the wetlands for future generations,” said John Hopper of Ducks Unlimited. 88 cents of each dollar raised goes directly to preservation.
More than 300 people attended the event.
