Gibson Co. officials warn of scam callers claiming to be with sheriff’s dept.
GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public of scam phone calls from someone claiming to be with the department. Deputies say someone is calling people in the county and claiming to be with the department and investigating a complaint against the person. Investigators say it is just a ploy to get personal information. The sheriff’s department said it never conducts business like this through phone calls and warns residents to never give out personal information over the phone.
