Students make recycled ornaments for Chester Co. tree

HENDERSON, Tenn. — Elementary students have contributed dozens of ornaments for the Chester County Christmas tree. For the third year, the Chester County Recycling Center asked students from East Chester, Jacks Creek and West Chester first and second grade to make ornaments with only one requirement. “They are asked to go home and get recyclables out of their recycling bins and make a cute Christmas ornament to hang on the 9-foot tree,” Amber Greene said. From snowmen to elves and reindeer, community members said they enjoy seeing the new ornaments each year. Some students will be recognized for their outstanding ornaments at a school assembly in December, according to Greene. The Christmas tree is on display at the Chester County Courthouse and can be seen during normal business hours.
