Haywood Co. man accused of shooting wife appears in court

HAYWOOD COUNTY, Tenn. — A Haywood County man accused of shooting and critically injuring his wife last month faced a judge Tuesday.

Joseph Barge’s hearing was supposed to take place last month but was reset because the state says it wasn’t given enough notice.

Because he’s a veteran, the VA is handling his mental evaluation.

Barge is being held without bond in the Haywood County Jail.
