Lady Hawks Sneak Past Lexington
JACKSON, Tenn — South Side played host to Lexington as the teams battled for a spot in the district championship.
The Hawks would be three outs away from reaching their destination, pitcher Kelsey Turner was on the mound to get the job done.
She gets hannah Basham to strikeout. Next batter, Samantha McDaniel grounds out.
Hawks one out away from advancing, Turner struck out Katelyn Wilson to end the game, giving them a 3-2 win.
Head coach Lori Benson was thrilled her team pulled off the win, but knew a tough task was ahead of them.
“It is so huge you know, we had to win to be able to advance to the regions and now we have to hopefully play two more games against Chester County and win a district championship,” said Benson.
They would have a match up later that night with the Chester County Lady Eagles.
