Weather Update: 5:30 PM Saturday
It was a scorcher out there today! One word to describe the afternoon.. hot! Current temps still sitting in the low to mid 90s and it will still be a warm night too. The humidity will continue to push into the area making tomorrow feel even warmer after the heat index is factored in to it. Plus the chance for pop-up rain showers returns started tomorrow.
TONIGHT
Things stay quiet and calm. It will just be a muggy night with partly cloudy skies. Temps are expected to fall into the low to mid 70s. The increasing cloud cover will help keep it a bit warmer.
TO END THE WEEKEND
With the humidity higher, the chance for pop-up shower activity returns. We are not expecting widespread rain showers but as high pressure moves off to the north and east it is giving us a south, southwest flow from the gulf. The humidity and the heat are going to ramp up for our Sunday. Temps will actually be a degree or so cooler but with the humidity hovering over the region it will FEEL warmer… up to 5 or more degrees for some.
THIS WEEK
The chance for rain remain in the forecast everyday this week. The best chance for widespread showers and thunderstorms arrives by midweek. It will still be warm and muggy into next weekend.
Make sure your staying hydrated and dressing for the heat! Also protect your skin if you will be out in the sun, especially Sunday! The UV index will be at a 9 so the chance for a sunburn is likely in 15 minutes or less if you have fair skin.
