New bell carillon tolls at Union University
JACKSON, Tenn.-Two weeks after a 49 bell carillon is installed in Miller Tower at Union University, the bells tolled for the first time, Friday.
At noon, the bells tolled 12 times to mark the hour, followed by the hymn, “Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee.”
The installation of the bells, cast in France, began on July 11.
Before the installation, a sound system mimicked the ringing of bells.
