Local ghost tour provides local history, college scholarships

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Baker’s Rack in downtown Jackson saw a full house Friday night as people came together for an annual event.

The 2019 Downtown Ghost Tour and Dinner Theater brought horror to the Hub City.

Actors from ‘North Park Theater’ dressed up as ghosts from Jackson’s past and told their true life stories.

In addition to providing people with local history, proceeds from the ghost tour have been helping send women back to college since 2007.

“We have funded so many scholarships since that time for the nontraditional female student returning to college to either better her career or education,” said Jacque Hillman, President of Jackson Area Business and Professional Women.

Last year the ghost tour presented a $2,000 check to a student at Jackson State Community College, and they hope to do that again this year.
