Vinyl outsells CDs for the first time in a generation

NEW YORK (AP) – After CDs were first introduced in the late 1980s, it wasn’t long before they surpassed vinyl as the preferred way to listen to music at home.

But now you can say vinyl has, well, turned the tables on the shiny discs. MRC Data reports that for the first time since 1991, vinyl sales have surpassed CDs as the most-sold physical format for music.

Of course, streaming services and digital downloads are by far the leader when it comes to how most people listen to music these days.
