Strong Storms Possible This Afternoon

Weather Update: Wednesday, October 12 —

A mild morning to start off. Temps this morning are holding in the upper 50s to low 60s. It is noticeably a little more humid as moisture continues returning ahead of the main cold front. There have been a few sprinkles here and there, but the bulk of the rain today will hold off until later this afternoon. Clouds will decrease through late morning, which will allow temps to climb into the low 80s. Dew points could still be a bit better, but there may be just enough moisture and instability to support a conditional severe threat, and a few damaging wind gusts today. For now that window appears to open after 1:00 PM, with conditions going downhill rapidly through 5:00 PM. The primary concern will be with widespread damaging winds as the whole line is bowing forward as it accelerates eat especially after 2:00 PM.
