Summer-Like Again, PM Storms Probable

Weather Update: Monday, May 15 —

Good Morning West Tennessee. We start this Monday morning off quite warm and humid with temps in the upper 60s to low 70s. A shallow ridge will again keep temps running quite warm around 88°F compared to average (80°F). I expect a similar day overall However, there will be one key difference, there is a backdoor cold front draped across the Tennessee Valley. The front will eventually sharpen up as a warm front as temps soar into the upper 80s across much of the Mid-South. Along the boundary, subtle disturbances will likely trigger scattered showers and storms, which will likely continue disorganized through much of the afternoon into the evening.. A few storms with stronger updrafts may produce small, perhaps isolated instances of large hail along with the potential of localized wet microburst winds.
