Mostly Sunny And Humid, Storms Possible This Afternoon
Weather Update: Monday, July 24 —
Good Morning West Tennessee! I hope everyone was able to enjoy the long rain-free weekend. Unfortunately the chance of storms will sneak back into the forecast later this afternoon. I still think most of the area will be dry, but with the return of northwesterly flow aloft thanks to a mid-level ridge shifting eat from Albuquerque, NM to the Great Basin over the course of this week. Storms are expected to develop just past the max heating of the afternoon in mainly NW Tennessee or north of I-40. A few storms may pack a punch with main threat being large hail and damaging winds. The storms chances will likely linger into Tuesday as well before mid level heights rise enough to shut NW flow down and place the Mid-South firmly within the ridge.
