Dale Childress passes away at 61
JACKSON, Tenn. — With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Dale Childress, who passed away on Sunday.
Dale Childress’ life was turned upside down after he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2007, but that didn’t stop him from spreading joy to others.
Childress’ wrote the messages inside the to-go boxes of cupcakes or other treats at Woodstock Bake Shop, a business Dale’s son, Matt, opened here in Jackson.
In 2020, Leaders Credit Union and WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News introduced Dale Childress as the national nominee for the Jefferson Award Foundation’s Multiplying Good Award.
A private celebration of life will be held for Dale’s family, and interment will be at Jones Cemetery in Wildersville.
Childress was 61 years old.
