December programs at the Jackson-Madison County Library
JACKSON, Tenn. —-JMC Library offers fun for all ages.
The Jackson-Madison County Library has a variety of programs for multiple ages to enjoy this month. Check out all the library has to offer.
This month’s activities for kids and multi-ages include:
StoryTimes at the Main Library
Every Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. in December. For ages 5 and under. Join in for stories, songs, fun, and time spent with friends.
This month’s special reading times include:
- December 4, 5, 7 – National Sock Day
Wear your craziest pair of socks! Come out and join the fun as we read stories, do a craft, and a little dancing in our sock feet!
- December 11, 12, 14 – National Cupcake Day
Who loves cupcakes? Come enjoy a fun story time about your favorite treats.
- December 18 – First Day of Winter
No matter what the weather looks like outside, join as we pretend to have some fun in a winter wonderland.
- December 19 – Story Time with SANTA
Join us for a story, singing, and question and answer session with everyone’s favorite guy in a red suit! You can even get a picture with the big guy. Everyone is welcome.
- December 21 10:00-12:00 – Craft Time
On this special day, instead of reading a story, drop by our Program Center for a craft project. We will decorate an ornament, and all ages are welcome.
There will not be Story Times on December 25, 26, or 28.

Coding Club
Join us every first Thursday at 3:30 p.m. on December 7. Meet fellow programmers and build your coding skills. Make games, animations, and more, all with code. Geared towards ages 10 and up.
Pokémon Trading Card Swap
Join us on Saturday, December 9, from 11:00 -1:00 p.m. Trade cards from everyone’s favorite pocket monster game, Pokémon.
Brown Bag Book Club
Join us every Wednesday at 12:00 pm. on December 6, 13, 20, and 27. Tweens and teens are welcome to bring a sack lunch and join us for a book club.
Game Nights
Every first and third Thursday at 5:00 pm. on December 7 and 21. Come play board games of all kinds! We have anything from chess, checkers, D&D and Settlers of Catan.
Family Book Club for Homeschoolers
Every Wednesday at 10:30-12:00 p.m. on December 6, 13.
Families with children of any age sign up with Ms. Jennifer & borrow the book. You’ll read aloud together at home, then come to book club to discuss the book, craft, play, and make new friends.
Young Writers Program (NaNoWriMo)
Join us every Thursday at 4:00 pm. December 7 and 14. For ages 11-16. Join us as we finish up our 12 week creative writing curriculum.
